Scanfast pioneered the use of Touchscreen technology in the grocery retail sector and on-line PLOFs and is still unusual in the sector to have a Windows-based product which is inherently easier to use than other operating systems.

The Scanfast Retail Management System includes:

  • Touchscreen terminals for fast check-out and accurate pricing with minimum staff training.
  • Handheld touchscreen terminals with screens that have the familiar look and feel of the EPOS terminals for use in stock checking and for goods in and reconciliation of central billing supplies, returns and invoices.
  • Production of labels and in-store promotional materials with prices which match the system and provide compliance with legal requirements.
  • Promotions ordered and set up (labels and pricing details) ahead of time and can be implemented easily and quickly.
  • Stock Control which allows you to know the value of stock in the shop at any time and to accurately produce management and year end accounts - and  to highlight wastage.
  • Back office system which allows management of the large and changing product  portfolio used by most convenience stores.  Powerful search facilities, description, barcode, supplier, price etc and speeds up and simplifies the ordering process.  For instance, adding new products to the portfolio is achieved by simply clicking on a product in the suppliers PLOF which resides on the system.  Once added to the portfolio the product will be ordered, the labels produced, the Touchscreen EPOS Terminals programmed and VAT implication accounted for.  When the a product is delivered it will be managed by the stock control and monitored to evaluate its success.   At any time the buyer can use their expertise to intervene and adjust the price, re-order quantity or the promotional activity.
  • Retailers can manage products from all suppliers through Scanfast whether they use electronic or paper based systems.
  • Analysis and reports make it easy for the buyer to monitor and manage the portfolio and including actual profitability as regularly as needed.  Accurate VAT analysis based on the actual VAT liability on sales is reflected rather than an average percentage which often results in overpayment.

Above all Scanfast ensures that best practice is applied throughout the operation of the convenience store in the simplest possible way.  Touchscreen technology effectively future-proofs users because any new services can be incorporated into the software.  This contrasts with cash register or keyboard systems because there are limited numbers of keys available.
